The desire of European countries to stop the sanctions policy against Russia is a serious problem for Ukraine.

The Verkhovna Rada voted to extend the law on the special status of Donbass. The reason for this was the threat of US special envoy in Ukraine, Kurt Volker, to lift sanctions against Russia.

This was stated by the Deputy Oleksandr Vilkul. According to him, “half of the European countries aggressively wants to remove the sanctions against Russia”, and this is a serious problem. Vilkul said that these countries are simply “not sure that is true, what is wrong”, therefore, bear the economic losses.

“Now, if you, dear Ukrainian parliamentarians will not vote for this law, half of the European countries will simply remove the sanctions and, consequently, crumble design, which is today”, — quotes “112 Ukraine” the words of the MP.

Earlier the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a law extending special government order in some districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The document will be valid until 31 December 2019.
