The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) investigation into family day care providers in Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval following the death of a baby of 10 months.
“The emergency services were called on Tuesday morning because the little girl was unconscious. She was transferred to the hospital, where, unfortunately, his death has been found in the course of the night,” said Louis-Philippe Bibeau, a spokesman for the SQ.
Investigators and a technician in the forensic identification were deployed on the scene Wednesday. Police officers were also presented the day before.
No arrest has been made. The cause of the death of the baby is for the moment unknown. The SQ will attempt to determine if there is a death natural, accidental or criminal.

A security perimeter was surrounded, on Wednesday, the bungalow where the home daycare is located. A cord of orange was surrounded as the court, in which there is a small playset for the kids.
According to two neighbours, the house is inhabited by a family of two parents and three children.
The father arrived on the scene Wednesday afternoon. “I have nothing more to say to you that what the police has already said,” he said to the Sun, through the glass of his vehicle.
François Thomassin, who lives in the residence behind the child care centre, was surprised to see the police arrive at the home of his neighbor, and learn that a baby had been found unconscious in the house.
He says that his neighbors have always seemed very good parents. “I would be very surprised if one or the other has done wrong to the child,” he said.
The Sûreté du Québec investigation automatically when an infant dies.
An autopsy will be performed on the body of the baby.
