Noting the obsolescence of the community Centre Charles-Auguste Savard, located on the boulevard Bastien, Quebec city 21 wants a new centre of $ 8 million, of which a third party at the expense of the City, is built.
This is the wish expressed Wednesday morning by the leader of the party Jean-François Gosselin and Patrick Package, its candidate in the by-election of 9 December for the post of municipal councillor in Neufchatel-Lebourgneuf.
The first phase of the project would allow the construction of a new building which would be merged to the current facilities. According to the official opposition at the city hall of Quebec City, the first shovel could be in 2022. The investment of $ 8 million would be divided in thirds between the federal government, the government of Quebec and the City of Quebec. In a second phase, Québec 21 wants the building already in place or being renovated.
“The upgrade of the community Centre Charles-Auguste-Savard is an important need in our community, insisted Mr Package. A new building would have a large gymnasium and revamping the library of Saint-André. It will also be possible to provide more adequate premises Leisure and sports Neufchâtel, at the cercle des fermières and the Golden Age club in Saint-André”, says Quebec 21.
