NEW YORK | The guitarist of the american rock band Aerosmith, Joe Perry, has been hospitalized in emergency on Saturday night a few minutes after they played at the concert of Billy Joel at Madison square Garden in New York.

68-year-old Joe Perry has taken a discomfort as soon as its output stage, indicated to the AFP his press attaché.

While the rocker was struggling to breathe, a medical team arrived and placed him under respiratory assistance.

He was still hospitalized Sunday, said the press officer, stating that Joe Perry was awake and able to communicate.

The guitarist has cancelled a concert he was to give Sunday in Florida, but “is expected to resume his tour a little later this month”, said one indicated of the same source.

The exact causes of discomfort have not been specified.

Joe Perry is a founding member of group Aerosmith, born in Boston in 1970.
