Awaited by thousands of parents each year, a List of the top schools in the Log will make his return this Saturday in The Journal de Montréal and Le Journal de Québec.
This ranking is a must for families wishing to make an informed choice for the secondary school their children will be published in a book of 32 pages inserted in the centre of the two daily newspapers.
The edition 2018 of the Top schools in the Log, done in collaboration with the Fraser Institute, will offer two new classifications separate: one for public-sector institutions, other for private institutions.
452 schools under the magnifying glass
It will provide a wealth of data on the performance of each of the 452 schools that are part of the Winners this year.
Parents and players interested in the education sector will thus be able to know the results of students in several subjects, the failure rate and the gap between boys and girls, to name a few of the indicators forming part of this annual study.
“A List of the top schools in the Journal has become an indispensable tool for many parents and we are proud of that,” said the project leader, Sébastien Ménard, editor and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Quebec.
“Our newsletter is the only tool that is objective, reliable, on which parents can use to compare the history of the academic performance of their child’s school with other schools in their community,” adds Yanick Labrie, associate researcher at the Fraser Institute.
Note that it is now more than a decade, The Journal de Montréal and Le Journal de Québec publishes exclusive List of The top schools.
